Polvere di Stelle
In a single-family home that underwent a complete renovation, the first floor was reserved for the client, where the master bedroom opens onto a spacious bathroom of about ten square meters.
To meet the client’s needs, we divided the space into two distinct areas: one for the washbasin and sanitary fixtures, and another dedicated to body care, featuring both a bathtub and a shower.
To design this space, we reinterpreted the traditional Moroccan hammam, creating shapes and volumes fabricated in the workshop using a CNC machine, which sculpted blocks of Gasbeton. These were then brought on-site for the manual application of hydrophobic resin, with a deliberately irregular, textured finish.
Location: Lesmo (MB). Italy
The washbasin and its surrounding space form the focal point of the bathroom; it’s where most of the time is spent, where one always stops, even if only for a few seconds.
Here, everything must be comfortable and within easy reach; every action should be performed simply and naturally; objects must be both functional and inviting.
In the lighting design, we highlighted the contrast between the natural light coming from the large window located on one of the room’s short sides and the artificial light, characterized especially by linear LED strips that emphasize the shapes of the body care area.
These lights invite the use of the space, providing illumination without glare.
A variety of materials and finishes were used to create this bathroom: wooden flooring; porcelain stoneware walls; hydrophobic resin; extra-clear glass; brushed bronze-finish brass; a washbasin cabinet with a Fenix countertop and oak-front drawers; matte ceramic sanitary fixtures; open-pore lacquered wood; and more.
