Jungle Bath

In a single-family home that underwent a complete renovation, the ground floor includes a guest master bedroom with access to a spacious private bathroom of approximately eight square meters.

To meet the client’s needs, the space was divided into two distinct areas: one for the washbasin and sanitary fixtures, and the other dedicated to the shower.

The design involved the use of three materials to define the bathroom’s volume: wooden flooring; large-format porcelain stoneware slabs with a floral pattern for the wall behind the sanitary fixtures; and water-repellent resin for the shower tray and all other walls.

The contrast between the colors, surfaces, and textures of these materials defines the character of the room: each view and each wall has its own functional identity, marked and expressed through a specific material.

Location: Lesmo (MB). Italy

The washbasin and its surrounding space form the focal point of the bathroom; it’s where most of the time is spent, where one always stops, even if only for a few seconds. Here, everything must be comfortable and within easy reach; every gesture should be performed simply and naturally; objects should be both functional and inviting.

In the lighting design, we highlighted the contrast between the natural light coming from the small window on the washbasin wall and the artificial lighting, characterized by linear LED strips that emphasize the shapes and volumes of the shower area, providing illumination without glare.

A variety of materials and finishes were used to create this bathroom: wooden flooring; porcelain stoneware walls; hydrophobic resin; extra-clear glass; brushed bronze-finish brass; a washbasin cabinet with a Fenix countertop and oak fronts; and matte ceramic sanitary fixtures.
