Il Nanetto

In a city apartment that underwent a complete renovation, we dedicated ample space to the master bedroom, which leads to the bathroom, measuring about ten square meters.

To meet the client’s needs, we divided the space into two distinct areas: one for the washbasin and sanitary fixtures, and another dedicated to body care, featuring both a bathtub and a shower, with shapes and volumes crafted on-site by working and molding the concrete as if it were clay.

The result is an organic and seamless whole, enhanced by resin that coats every surface, making it water-repellent and textured—almost “alive” under the light.

Location:  Milan. Italy

The washbasin and its surrounding space form the focal point of the bathroom; here we used a washbasin carved from a single block of Beola Bianca stone from our Stonewash collection: the interior surfaces are smooth to facilitate water flow, while the exterior surfaces are rough to highlight the natural material.

In the lighting design, we aimed to “hide” the sources of the main light—the one that turns on upon entering the room, to avoid annoying glare and create a softer, more diffused interaction with the space.

Conversely, we emphasized the lighting in the washbasin area with two wall lamps featuring a polished brass arm and shade.

A variety of materials and finishes were used to create this bathroom: hydrophobic resin flooring and walls; glass mosaic; extra-clear glass; metal details in polished gold-finish brass; a washbasin cabinet with a countertop and fronts in mahogany wood; matte ceramic sanitary fixtures; and lacquered wood in eight different shades of red.
