Nanetto House
The project involved the renovation of an approximately 250-square-meter apartment located in a predominantly residential building constructed around the 1970s, situated in a central area of Milan.
The apartment had never been renovated before, with a layout and functions no longer suited to contemporary living, as well as energy-consuming systems with inadequate performance for current climate conditions.
First, we intervened by insulating the “envelope” of the home -its walls and ceilings- to protect the residents from the city’s pollution and the noise coming from the neighboring apartments. Then, we focused on the pursuit of style and beauty.
Location: Milan. Italy
We began with the complete demolition of the apartment, allowing us to design freely, without any pre-existing constraints or limitations.
This allowed us to completely redesign the house and its spaces, in particular transforming the living area into a large open space to meet the client’s living habits and needs.
We assigned color and light the valuable role of enhancing every perspective within the home.
We created innovative solutions, such as the “Wallnot,” a custom-made floor-to-ceiling storage unit that replaces the traditional masonry wall to separate two rooms, providing volumes and functions where there would typically be just a “simple” wall.
