La Cuccia di Max

The project involved the complete Renovation of a single-family home located within a residential complex surrounded by the greenery of the Brianza countryside. Specifically, on the ground floor, the layout was transformed from a “traditional” plan with hallways and separate rooms into a single open space on three sides, accommodating the entrance, kitchen, dining area, and living room, along with two staircases providing access to the first floor and basement.

The spaces and functions blend seamlessly into one another, with natural light and colors becoming harmonious elements that invite and welcome.

Location: Lesmo (MB). Italy

We deliberately “freed” the space from walls and volumes we considered unnecessary, allowing for views and perspectives that were previously blocked, offering a unique visual experience from every point in the house.

We used thirteen different color shades to emphasize and highlight each individual wall, and we incorporated wallpaper as a “hinge” element to connect the spaces.

La Cuccia di Max can truly be described as a “custom-made home,” both because all the client’s requests and wishes were respected, interpreted, and fulfilled,

and also because many elements of the house and furnishings are unique pieces, specifically designed and crafted: the kitchen, wardrobe units, bathroom furnishings, and, in particular, the staircase leading to the first floor, made of steel sheet.

The house is equipped with air treatment and conditioning systems, as well as an underfloor radiant heating system.

We believe that the “house machine” should have an engine that is simple to operate, as unobtrusive as possible, and functions only when needed, in order to minimize energy consumption and its impact on the natural environment.
