GRAFICHE ORTOLAN HEADQUARTER

The project involves the redevelopment of the Administrative and Production Headquarters of a Graphic Industry based in Milan.

The intervention pursues multiple objectives, starting with the renovation of the building’s main façade, which sheds its anonymity to become a “gateway” leading to the ground floor (production area) and the first floor (administrative offices).

A Corten steel screen establishes a new raised level on the façade, allowing access to the staircase and providing a broad surface where the company logo is proudly displayed.

The space between the building and the street has been enhanced by creating a pathway made of white beola stone slabs, crossing a green area with birch trees and a Japanese maple, designed to warmly welcome visitors upon arrival.

Location: Opera (MI). Italy

On the exterior, the chosen material to characterize the building is Corten steel, used to create the entrance screen with the staircase, the gate, the garden furnishings, and other details.

This material, with its intense rust-like color, offers high resistance to weather conditions and naturally oxidizes over a period of six months.

On the first floor, structural modifications were also carried out to create an orderly and rational layout, optimizing the spaces and making them more flexible;

the goal is to promote a work environment focused on well-being, encouraging interaction among employees and, as a result, fostering greater productivity and mutual satisfaction.

In the production department, the project includes a redistribution of the printing machines to streamline movement within the space, and the use of graphics, both on the walls and suspended in the air, to introduce a playful element that helps counteract the monotonous repetitiveness of certain tasks and duties.
